Usually the elephant festival is held in the Chaudan ground of Jaipur and it is centrally located it is easily accessible from any part of the city. Several competitions are arranged in order to involve more people to participate in the celebrations. The elephants take part in these races, tug of war and polo matches and is a marvellous sight. Renowned as a festival that reinforces filial piety and togetherness, a majority of Sri Lankans head to their ancestral homes in villages for the New Year for a reunion with loved ones during this public holiday.
The Dolomiti are situated in the north east of Italy and these mountains have a similar geological structure. Nowadays a UNESCO Natural World Heritage, In August 2009, they were declared a natural heritage site. This year will begin on 3 July with Dolomiti d’Incanto, a special event where sixteen of the best choirs of Trentino will play music and sing in order to pay homage to this beautiful landscape: the Dolomiti.
